The North Akron Market is a Partnership Between Shanti Community Farms, The Exchange House, The Irish Restoration Association (Hibernians), and the North Akron Community Development Corporation. Everything sold at the Market should be produced locally by the vendor. Space may be limited, and so completion of an application is no guarantee of acceptance. In addition to providing a public market and social event for the neighborhood, the partners are hoping to encourage entrepreneurship among residents of Akron’s Northern Neighborhoods, so special assistance will be available for first-time vendors.
Market Dates and Fees
The North Akron Market will run on Saturdays from 2-7pm starting May 5 and running through September 29. To provide continuity at the market, we ask that vendors commit to a minimum of 4 market dates. While local gardeners and farmers may attend at no charge, we do charge a small fee for other vendors. The charge for a typical 10’x10’ tent space, or 8’x8’ kiosk per market date is $20/day, if you have different or additional space needs, that may incur an additional cost. An organizer will contact you if such a fee is warranted. By default, fees are due monthly at the first market day you attend, if this presents a problem or hardship, please talk to an organizer.
